Sydney - Day 5 - Manly

Everyone I'd talked to had recommended heading out to Manly for the day. So I walked down to Circular Quay and got a "Manly return" for the ferry.

The trip follows the same route as the Watson's Ferry, but heads off to the left side of the harbor.

Here's a picture of the Manly Ferry terminal:

One of the reasons for coming to Manly is to do the 10km walk from Manly to The Spit, and it was certainly worth doing. Here's a few pics of the route (should have taken more but I was too busy enjoying the walk).

A picture of the gap - this is the opening of Sydney Harbor:

Incredibly clear water:

Manly, and the Manly Ferry - you can see the ocean in the background:

After making it round to The Spit, I headed back to Manly on the bus, and then hung out at the beach for a while. And then it was back to Sydney on the ferry, and off to Darling Harbor.

From what was once just docks on the edge of Sydney, Darling Harbor has been transformed into a business and entertainment area. And it's a great place to spend an evening.

I ended up at an Indian Restaurant, sitting on the balcony overlooking the harbour. The food and wine were fantastic - although it wasn't cheap, at just under 40 pounds (which goes to show how expensive Sydney is). It was worth it though for the view.
